On behalf of Tim Zahn at Shell QGC (originally CS0003060): We have been informed that the ProjectWise Description field is limited to 127 characters, whereas the ALIM Title field is 255 characters. The ALIM-PW connector does not truncate the Title to Description, soif the ALIM Title is greater than 127 characters, an error is generated when registering ALIM
documents in PW; error = 'buffer is too small....'.
We have been provided 'workarounds' for the issue; shorten the ALIM descriptions [not acceptable] or map to a different PW attribute that has sufficient characters.
We are requesting Bentley's assistance in analysing this system limitation, confirming what changes are required in Projectwise to increase Description field.
