Add User setting 'Can only login through ProjectWise Web and ProjectWise Web View' in ProjectWise Administrator to only allow connecting to ProjectWise via web browsers, similar to old User setting 'Can only login through Web View Server' that only allows connecting to ProjectWise through ProjectWise Web View Server.
This added setting can force casual site users read-only access to ProjectWise datasource via web browsers ONLY instead of using thick desktop client ProjectWise Explorer, this way of access does not cost a ProjectWise Visa/Passport.
This added feature would not only save ProjectWise user access cost but also allow more site users who require general viewing purposes only to access ProjectWise datasource.

For users inside of your organization, the SES portal has settings to allow/deny product entitlement by IMS ID. The setting you are referring to within the datasource will be modified to work with the current version of PW Web and Web view services.
The SES portal does not leverage Active Directory groups/users sync like that in ProjectWise Administrator console. As such, separate lists (As entitlement groups in SES portal) are required to create and maintain that will result in huge overheads and time consuming in keeping up to date lists in both locations for admin.
Adding such feature in ProjectWise Administrator is the best approach.
